OUR PROGRAMS Americanism Sponsor an Americanism Essay Contest each year for students in
the 4th - 7th grade.
Present flag and other Americanism materials to schools.
Assist the Legion with County Government Day in O'Neill each year.
Present monetary awards to local County Government Essay winners.Children & Youth Sponsor the Halloween Jamboree each year for children of the community.
Promote prevention programs for teenage drugs, alcohol and tobacco.
Sponsor the Girl Scouts and their projects.
Gave a National Children and Youth Hero's Award.
Assist American Legion with Easter Egg Hunt each year.
Donated to the Children's Hospital in OmahaCommunity Service Organize the Stuart Red Cross Bloodmobile twice each year.
Donate money for Community, School and Park projects.
Donate money for Stuart Livestock show.
The Auxiliary assists the Legion with the Memorial Day
program and also remembers each of our deceased members
by placing an American Legion Auxiliary flag at their grave.
Participate in the 4th of July Parade.
Donate money for the 4th of July fireworks.

Education Each year, two students graduating from Stuart High School
are given a $100.00 scholarship.
Sponsor, support and participate in National Education Week
by giving the teachers at Stuart Public and St. Boniface Schools
food trays in appreciation for the service to our children.
Give a $50.00 savings bond for the Stuart Post Prom Party.
We contribute to Nebraska student aid grants, Vocational
Technical Scholarships. Many Stuart youth have received scholarships from these funds.Girls State Each year we select a junior girl to represent our community at Girls State in Lincoln. This is a nonpartisan program that aims to teach young women responsible citizenship. Legislative Each meeting a lesson on current affairs is given.
When warranted, the unit sends letters to congressmen on pending issues.Poppy Program Distribute poppies. Donations received for the poppies are sent to help disabled veterans.Veterans Affairs Each year our unit completes a sewing assignment for the Veterans
& Rehabilitation Home in Norfolk.
We also deliver cookies and tray favors to the Norfolk Home.
Contribute money for the Gift Shop, Gifts for Yanks and Dollar Days at Veterans Hospitals in Nebraska.A Blue Star Banner, to display in their window, will be given to parents or spouses of young men or women from our area who are active members of our armed forces. We will also order banners for anyone else who wants to purchase them and show their support of our American Armed Forces.
Other Activities Our main source of income is the Concession Stand we operate at the Stuart Stock Car Races.
We also help with Bingo and other activities at Parkside Manor.
Each month we assist the Legion by helping at the Steak Night held at the Legion Lounge.When asked, our unit is ready to assist our community and especially the Stuart American Legion.
