Mission Statement
The mission of The Cowboy Trail Committee is to provide the leadership for the development of the recognition and promotion of the community of Stuart through the beautification of the trail, promotion of services, accommodations, and the historical features of the community.
The committee will:
1. Enlist community participation to insure the beautification of the Stuart portion of the trail.
2. Educate the community in the potential benefit derived through promotion of services, recreational facilities, and accommodations available to trail users.
3. Assist in the awareness, development, and promotion of the many historical features of the community.
Projects
Wm. Krotter Company Elevator Project. Plans for preservation and development of the structure to include:
· Preserve the history of the elevator.
· Design visual displays showing the history of our hay country and the railroad to depict the important part they played in the development of our community.
· Provide an added attraction to the White Horse Museum.
· Display our National and State Flags.
· Provide a rest area along Cowboy Trail and promote walking and biking opportunities for local residents and visitors.
· Add to the beautification of our downtown area.
· Stuart Shirt and Cap Sales Promotion.
· Railroad right-of-way cleanup.
· Tree Planting along the trail.
Cowboy trail conferences and meetings. An attempt will be made to have representatives attend conferences and meetings to stay informed of progress and plans for the Cowboy Trail.
