Stuart's White Horse Museum has been described by many of our visitors as a treasure hidden at the edge of the Sandhills. People are surprised to see a Museum that is dedicated to the heritage and history of the Community, a fact that should make us all very proud. Our Museum is growing in size and soon will become a heritage village.

The Museum committee is always searching for new and exciting displays to add to our Museum, making it more interesting to all the people who visit from far and wide and to the residents of our Community. Some of the plans:

1. Now that the Cleveland Church has been moved from north of Stuart to the Museum site, white vinyl siding was installed to cover the chipped paint on the original siding. Now the windows need scraping and repainting. Landscaping has begun with the help of volunteers and needs to be completed this year. A grant enabled us to purchase many plants, bushes and trees to enhance the area.
2. The Reichard/Kramer house from northeast Stuart is on a permanent foundation and restoration should begin this year.
3. Now that the siding has been removed from the house, beautiful decorative gingerbread has been uncovered and will require careful painting.
4. With the help of some of our gifted art students within the Stuart schools, we hope to place a mural depicting early Stuart on the west side of the metal building.

We hope to have many visitors stop in and enjoy the chance to visit the Museum and share time with others who attend.

Training for all new docents or anyone interested, will be offered at a convenient time. Please contact Bill Seipel for times to meet.

Please come and visit your Museum. It will certainly be worth your time and would be educational for your children. Teach them about their heritage and Stuart's history. The White Horse Museum will be open for its summer season Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Regular hours will be 7 days a week from 1-5 p.m. Admission charges will be $3.00 for adults, $2.00 for seniors (60+) and children 5 and under will be free. Special visit requests may be arranged by contacting one of the following:
