|
The Stuart Tree Board has approximately 141 trees with "family" or "friend" signs in the Stuart Public Park. A wooden sign is made and placed near a purchased tree with the family or friend's name carved on the sign. We are trying to plant a variety of trees in the park so in the fall there will be some different colors, courtesy of Mother Nature.
We met most of our goals for 2006.
We planted new trees along the fence line by the soccer fields, replaced some of the trees that didn't make it through the winter and removed elm trees near the picnic tables. Our Goals for 2007-08 are:
Remove one or two rows of the cedar trees by the ice skating rink to make room for the walking path.Tree Board Members are:
Glen and Mary Lyn Revelle, Ron Kramer, Dave and Patty Batenhorst, John Kramer, Jean and Alan Shermer, Marvin Miksch
We would welcome anyone interested in becoming a member. If anyone is interested in purchasing a tree/sign, please contact a board member. They will be $100.00. Trees make a wonderful living memorial or tribute to friends and loved ones. Unfortunately, we only have two trees for adoption. When they are taken, we will not be putting any more trees in the park until there is room available. Thanks for your past support!
